After another week of play, the Orioles Triple-A affiliate, the Norfolk Tides, drop their record to 3-9. In six games against the Charlotte Knights, affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, the Tides were able to come away with just one win and are still at the bottom of the Triple-A East Division.
Despite the losses, a couple of promising prospects lit up the week. Outfielder and make-shift closer Stevie Wilkerson had a good week, going 8-for-21 with three multi-hit games. Top prospect, Rylan Bannon, who is someone Oriole fans hope to see very soon, also showed up, going 6-for-27 with two multi-hit games of his own.
Former 2012 draft pick Seth Meijas-Brean had himself a week, hitting in all six games of this series. He tallied three doubles and drove in three, which improved his average on the year to .294.
From the mound, it wasn’t a great week for the Tides’ arms. Alex Wells, Zac Lowther, and Isaac Mattson all took losses. In these six games, the pitching staff allowed 37 runs.
