The Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Orioles, have officially announced their roster for the 2021 minor league season.
The Tides will feature eight of the organization’s Top-30 prospects, some who have even seen time in the majors this season.
The pitching will feature Zac Lowther and Alexander Wells, both in the Orioles’ Top-30 prospects list, along with familiar names like Keegan Akin, Thomas Eshelman, Evan Phillips, and Cody Carrol, who have all seen time in the big leagues.
The Tides will carry three catchers this season, as Austin Wynns will be the primary man behind the plate, with Taylor Davis and Brett Cumberland also getting time.
The outfield will feature two Top-30 prospects, as Yusniel Díaz and Ryan McKenna will see a lot of playing time to fully develop.
The infield will feature three Top-30 prospects in Rylan Bannon, Jahmai Jones, and Tyler Nevin. There’s also a guy with a pretty famous last name on the roster, that being Ryan Ripken.
