Baltimore Orioles announce 2022 roster

Opening Day is a little more than 24 hours away, and the Baltimore Orioles have finalized their opening 28-man roster to begin the year.

One of the truest quotes ever said is, “the roster you open with will not be the same you end with.” We feel pretty confident in saying this will be true for the O’s this season.

Former No.1 overall pick Adley Rutschman is scheduled to make his debut later this season. We will most likely see both No. 2 prospect Grayson Rodriguez and No. 5 prospect D.L. Hall at some point. With a pipeline of prospects ready to break through, this Opening Day roster will have some massive changes along the way.

The outfield seems to be set, with 30-30 man Cedric Mullins leading the way, along with Austin Hays and Anthony Santander manning the corner spots.

Outside of John Means and Jordan Lyles, the starting staff could change throughout the season, as well as this new-look Oriole bullpen.

The infield will be headlined by sophomore first baseman Ryan Mountcastle, who will be looking to keep his star status rising after a 33 homer campaign last year.

With Brandon Hyde set to lead the Orioles from the manager’s seat, let’s take a look at your 2022 Orioles Opening Day roster:
