The 2026 MLB Draft is officially complete.
After selecting four players on Day 1, the Orioles added 16 more prospects during Rounds 5-20 on Sunday, continuing to emphasize pitching while adding several intriguing position players.
Let’s take a closer look at Birdland’s newest additions.
Round 5, Pick 142: Jimmy Anderson – INF / Heartland College
The Orioles opened Day 2 by selecting a familiar name in infielder Jimmy Anderson, who Baltimore originally drafted in the 19th round of the 2025 MLB Draft before he chose not to sign. Anderson was unranked by MLB Pipeline.
Returning to Heartland Community College for another season proved to be the right decision. Anderson slashed .465/.544/1.030 in 59 games while finishing his collegiate career with a .452 batting average, 174 hits, 40 doubles, 36 home runs and 151 RBIs. He also drew 68 walks, struck out just 30 times and stole 32 bases.
Round 6, Pick 171: Zane Adams – LHP / Alabama
Baltimore selected its second pitcher of the draft by taking Alabama left-hander Zane Adams, who was also unranked by MLB Pipeline.
Adams posted a 4.58 ERA across 90.1 innings during his junior season, striking out 100 while walking just 30. Over his three-year career with the Crimson Tide, he recorded a 5.09 ERA in 214 innings with 209 strikeouts, 83 walks and a .275 opponent batting average.
Round 7, Pick 200: Ryan Piech – RHP / Xavier
The Orioles continued to add pitching with Xavier right-hander Ryan Piech, another unranked prospect.
Piech enjoyed an impressive junior campaign, posting a 3.18 ERA over 76.1 innings while holding opponents to a .201 batting average, striking out 98 and walking 31. During his collegiate career, Piech finished with a 3.71 ERA across 136 innings, limiting hitters to a .193 average while recording 163 strikeouts.
Round 8, Pick 230: Will Plunkett – INF / Mamaroneck HS
Baltimore returned to the position player side by selecting high school infielder Will Plunkett, who ranked No. 198 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 250 Draft Prospects list.
The 18-year-old stands 6-foot-3 and possesses an intriguing all-around skill set. MLB Pipeline grades his hit, run, fielding and arm tools all at 50, with power viewed as the lone area still developing. Plunkett is committed to Binghamton, making him one of the Orioles’ more interesting signability decisions.
Round 9, Pick 260: Collin McKinney – RHP / Arizona
The Orioles continued adding pitching by selecting Arizona right-hander Collin McKinney, who went unranked by MLB Pipeline.
McKinney transitioned from the rotation to the bullpen this season after posting a 3.98 ERA during his first year with the Wildcats. He finished 2026 with a 6.27 ERA in 37.1 innings, striking out 49 despite opponents hitting .317 against him. However, his performance in the MLB Draft League likely boosted his stock after posting a 2.00 ERA in nine innings.
Round 10, Pick 290: Carlos Sanchez – UTIL / LSU Shreveport
Baltimore selected its first utility player of the draft with Carlos Sanchez, another unranked prospect.
Sanchez impressed during his lone season at LSU Shreveport, batting .388 with 20 doubles, 13 triples, 12 home runs and 82 RBIs in 57 games. He also stole 37 bases in 41 attempts. Defensively, Sanchez brings plenty of versatility, seeing time in the outfield, infield and even behind the plate.
Round 11, Pick 320: Ross Norman – RHP / Coastal Carolina
The Orioles added another arm with Coastal Carolina right-hander Ross Norman in Round 11.
Norman posted a 6.46 ERA across 78 innings during his junior season, striking out 65. The 6-foot-7 right-hander is not known for overpowering hitters, but his size and delivery make him an intriguing arm. His build and profile even draw some similarities to Joseph Dzierwa, The Baltimore Battery’s No. 5 prospect.
Round 12, Pick 350: Leo Marrero – C / Hardee HS
The Orioles selected its first catcher of the draft by taking high school backstop Leo Marrero, who was unranked by MLB Pipeline.
Marrero, listed at 6-foot-1, profiles as a contact-oriented hitter. According to MaxPreps, he hit .414 with seven doubles and 12 RBIs this season. While power is not currently a major part of his game, he will have time to develop physically as he begins his professional career.
Round 13, Pick 380: Garrison Sumner – RHP / BYU
Pitching remained the priority as Baltimore selected BYU right-hander Garrison Sumner in the 13th round.
Sumner finished the season with a 6.78 ERA across 66.1 innings while showing plus command, walking just 28 compared to 85 strikeouts. He profiles as more of a fly-ball pitcher with the ability to consistently throw strikes.
Round 14, Pick 410: Miguel Hugas – RHP / Mercer
The Orioles added another collegiate arm in Mercer right-hander Miguel Hugas in Round 14.
Hugas posted a 6.17 ERA over 77.1 innings while holding opponents to a .286 batting average and recording 52 strikeouts. He also spent time as a two-way player earlier in his collegiate career, giving the Birds another intriguing developmental project.
Round 15, Pick 440: Braden Smith – RHP / UCF
Another right-hander joined the organization as Baltimore selected Braden Smith from UCF.
Smith made eight starts during his lone season with the Knights, posting a 6.21 ERA. Across stops at UCF and Maryville, he compiled a 4.88 career ERA over 142 innings while striking out 121 and walking just 34, showcasing strong command throughout his collegiate career.
Round 16, Pick 470: Brayden Fry – INF / Cranford HS
The Orioles may have found an intriguing value pick by selecting high school infielder Brayden Fry.
Fry took a major step forward during his senior season, hitting .475 in 99 at-bats while setting career-highs with 10 home runs and 29 stolen bases. He finished his high school career with a .379 batting average.
Round 17, Pick 500: Diego Gutierrez – RHP / San Diego
Baltimore’s pitching-heavy draft continued with San Diego right-hander Diego Gutierrez.
Gutierrez made 14 starts this season, posting a 6.61 ERA across 66.2 innings while striking out 84 and holding opponents to a .281 batting average.
Round 18, Pick 530: Gunnar Garrison – RHP / Eaton HS
The Orioles selected high school right-hander Gunnar Garrison, an Arizona State commit, in the 18th round.
While drafted as a pitcher, Garrison also impressed offensively during his prep career. Baltimore will now have to convince the talented two-way athlete to forgo his college commitment and begin his professional career.
Round 19, Pick 560: Victor Salazar – OF / Paetow HS
The Orioles’ final position player selection came in the 19th round with high school outfielder Victor Salazar.
A Temple College commit, Salazar has also been mentioned as a potential two-way player. He brings a solid contact-oriented approach with developing power, making him another interesting signability candidate.
Round 20, Pick 590: Ross Davis – RHP / Rusk HS
The Orioles wrapped up the 2026 MLB Draft by selecting right-hander Ross Davis out of Rusk High School.
Davis dominated as a senior, posting a 0.45 ERA over 46.2 innings. He allowed just 15 hits and 12 walks while striking out 89. Opponents managed only a .093 batting average and a .188 on-base percentage against him, giving Baltimore one final high-upside arm to close out its draft class.
After selecting four players on Day 1, the Orioles leaned heavily into pitching on Day 2, using 11 of its final 16 picks on arms.
The Birds also added several athletic position players, highlighted by Jimmy Anderson, Will Plunkett and Carlos Sanchez.
While many of these selections will be viewed as developmental projects, the Orioles’ front office once again prioritized athleticism, strike-throwing and upside throughout the final 16 rounds of the draft.
