The Baltimore Orioles made a low-risk move to bolster its outfield depth, agreeing to a minor-league deal with veteran outfielder Tommy Pham, per multiple industry sources.

Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 16th round of the 2006 MLB Draft, Pham did not become an everyday contributor until his late 20s. His breakout came in 2017, when he finished 11th in NL MVP voting after slashing .306/.411/.520 with 23 home runs, 25 stolen bases and a 148 OPS+ in 128 games.

Pham, now 38, has carved out a lengthy big-league career. Across 12 MLB seasons, the right-hander owns a .256 career batting average with 149 home runs, 522 RBIs, 131 stolen bases and a .766 OPS over more than 1,200 games.

Since then, Pham has built a reputation as a productive journeyman, suiting up for 10 organizations, including the Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres, New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Pham spent the 2025 season with Pittsburgh, appearing in 120 games and posting a .245/.330/.370 slash line with 10 home runs, 52 RBIs and a 94 wRC+. In nine games with the Mets in 2026, Pham was hitless in 13 at-bats.

The Orioles have leaned heavily on young position players in recent years, and Pham offers experienced insurance in the outfield. His deal with the O’s allows him to opt out in early June, per a source.

Sure, why not? Elias has signed every Tom, Dick and Harry, might as well complete the set. Topps could field a complete set of Elias pick ups.
