There really isn’t anything better than seeing some of your favorite players represent your team at the MLB All-Star Game.

Seeing some of your young stars who have helped turn your franchise around all together is even better.

For Oriole fans during this 2024 Mid-Summer Classic, it will be exactly that. A trio of young players (Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg), all who are responsible for the turnaround of the organization into a World Series contender, with a chance to showcase themselves.

They are also etching themselves into the history books.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB, @SlansonSports on X, the 2024 O’s are the first team to have a trio of position players who all make an All-Star team within their first three seasons.

Rustchman is in his third season, while Henderson and Westburg both are in their second. What’s really impressive about this feat is that two of those three weren’t even first-round picks. Tanking, anyone?

As an O’s fan, when you look at players like Rutschman, Henderson, and Westburg, this feat may not be a surprise. But at this point, we are a little desensitized to the immense talent these young Birds possess.

All three being position players and still achieving this feat is impressive. Not that outfielders being in the group wouldn’t. However, there’s a lot more availability on the All-Star roster for that position.

Gunnar had to beat out Bobby Witt Jr. for his starting job, all while Westburg had to hope for an injury replacement, which would give him his spot.

It was a late addition for Westburg, who was the third member to complete this trio. Westburg hit .271 with a .814 OPS and 15 home runs for the first half of this season. As well as being one of the most clutch hitters in baseball, Westburg absolutely earned that spot.

Don’t forget to catch our O’s, as that position player trio makes history in Arlington, Texas, on Tuesday evening, along with outfielder Anthony Santander and the American League starter, Corbin Burnes.
