The Orioles are back home, this time to take on the Atlanta Braves here at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

First off, this series will begin a new era for the Birds, one where the team is now sponsored by Baltimore native investment company, T Rowe Price. On the sleeve of the O’s jerseys, you will see a patch with T Rowe Prices’ logo going forward.

Enough of that, let’s talk some baseball. The Birds come into this series on the back of a four-game winning streak, aided by the teams’ first ever four-game sweep of the Rays at The Trop.

On the bump for the Orioles will be Albert Suárez (2-0, 1.83 ERA) in game one (The Pasture Game), Cade Povich (0-1, 10.13 ERA) in game two and Cole Irvin (6-2, 2.87 ERA) in game three.

A couple storylines to highlight for this series, the first being The Pasture, organized by our very own Jason Benowitz. The Pasture will feature a plethora of Oriole fans, decked out in their cow and Colton Cowser attire, as we will be up in Section 72. If you are at The Yard on Tuesday night, be sure to stop by.

The next headline is Cade Povich, as he makes his second career start and his first home start. In his first start against the Toronto Blue Jays, Povich had good stuff but struggled with the walks. This time around, seeing a little better pitch command to limit the pitch count and walks will be a big improvement.

The third here is Gunnar Henderson, who has been on an absolute tear, hitting his 21st home run on the year on the first pitch of the game on Monday night. Henderson comes into this series riding a 19-game on-base streak. He has a much-deserved day off in game one, at least to start.

ROSTER MOVES

Prior to the start of this series, the Orioles made a number of roster moves.

First, the team reinstated infielder Jorge Mateo from the seven-day concussion injured list. Infielder Connor Norby has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

The O’s have also placed left-hander Danny Coulombe on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation, retroactive to June 9. Right-hander Bryan Baker has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR

The BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR in this series will be the rotation continuing the trend of quality and lengthy starts.

Blowing through the bullpen could prove fatal against a lineup like the Braves. Lately, Suárez and Irvin have been very good with getting deep into ball games, and that will need to continue, mainly because of Povich making only his second big league start.

As we’ve seen over the last two weeks, when the O’s starters can get themselves into the sixth and seventh innings, it is very hard to be able to beat this team. Against a quality offense like the Braves, being able to provide success a second and third time through the lineup will certainly bring a series win.

GAME 1 STARTING LINEUP

Games one and two of this series will begin at 6:35 p.m. EST, with game three slated for 1:05 p.m. EST. As always, you can catch each game on MASN or on your local Orioles Radio Network station.
