O’s host Rays for 3 games at OPACY: Series Preview 6/17/22 – 6/19/22

The Orioles travel back home after their eight-game road trip to face off with another AL East opponent. Over their last eight games on the road, the O’s split the trip 4-4.

Now, the Tampa Bay Rays come to town once again. There to greet them on the mound for the Birds will be Dean Kremer, Kyle Bradish and Jordan Lyles.

The offense has been hot all of June, and they look to keep that up against another great offense.

Ryan Mountcastle leads the charge, as he is having an electric month. He just became the quickest Oriole to ever hit 50 career home runs, while he’s also on a six-game hit streak.

Another player looking to continue his upward trend is Adley Rutschman. After his slow start, Rutschman has now doubled more often than he has struck out and has hit safely in five of his last eight.

The lineup will now feature Anthony Santander once again, while the bullpen regains Keegan Akin. Both are key pieces to the team, and both should make a difference in this series.

❌-Factor:

The Baltimore Battery’s ❌-Factor for this series is the bottom of the lineup. That includes batters such as Jorge Mateo, Tyler Nevin, Richie Martin and Rougned Odor.

With the top and middle of the lineup hitting as well as they are, the game changer will be this bottom of the lineup being on base for the rest of the team. Lots of hits are great, but when they constantly come with no men on, a team like the Rays will have an easy time to victory.

Roster Moves:

As mentioned earlier, the O’s have reinstated both Anthony Santander and Keegan Akin off the restricted list.

That also means both Kyle Stowers and Rico Garcia were sent back to Triple-A Norfolk.
