Norfolk Tides announce 2022 Opening Day roster

The Norfolk Tides are set to open up their season Tuesday, April 5, at home against the Charlotte Knights, and the team has officially announced their Opening Day roster to begin the 2022 minor league season.

Managed by Buck Britton, this roster is loaded with some top prospect talent, as well as a few sleepers to keep your eye on.

Without a doubt, this roster is highlighted by the No. 1 pitching prospect in all of baseball, Grayson Rodriguez. It’s unclear how much time he will spend in Triple-A, however, Oriole fans can rest easy knowing it won’t be for very long.

Kyle Stowers also joins this roster after being showcased this spring. Stowers had 93 plate appearances in 22 games last season for a .667 OPS in Norfolk.

Yusniel Díaz looks to come out firing for this lineup in hopes of finally reaching the majors. In 10 games this spring, Díaz hit .375 with a 1.250 OPS, aided by a home run and three doubles. Could this finally be the year?
