The Delmarva Shorebirds split their opening series of the 2021 season with the Salem Red Sox, after a week full of rain outs and doubleheaders.
There was a lot of offensive success for the team this week, even though rain played a big factor in getting these games in.
Orioles No. 5 overall prospect, Gunnar Henderson, had himself a strong week, hitting two monster home runs that left Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
Catcher Jordan Cannon had an impressive series, going 6-for-14 with two home runs and four RBI, while big first baseman J.D. Mundy went 7-for-17 with a homer and four RBI.
A pair of Top-30 prospect infielders also saw success, as Jordan Westburg tallied seven RBI and hit a monster grand slam, and Darell Hernaiz hit a home run himself and tallied four RBI.
As for pitching, there were a few stand outs from the opening series who came in relief.
Adam Stauffer, 22, came out of the pen and was absolutely dominate. The young right-hander tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, picking up a win and striking out five in the process.
Left-hander Jake Prizina also had great week out of the pen. The 24-year-old threw 2.1 scoreless innings, while striking out four and picking up the win.
