The weather was scorching in Maryland this past week, but so were the bats of several Baltimore Orioles prospects.

While the win-loss records may not tell the full story, plenty of players across the organization turned in standout performances this past week.

Let’s take a look at this week’s O’s Prospects of the Week.

Triple-A Norfolk: Christian Encarnacion-Strand – UTIL / Christian Herberholz – RHP

Christian Encarnacion-Strand was the star of Norfolk’s lineup this past week, posting a .316 batting average and .896 OPS while collecting six hits, one double, two home runs and five RBIs.

Encarnacion-Strand has proven to be one of the Orioles’ better under-the-radar acquisitions this season. Acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in April after being designated for assignment, the 26-year-old has rediscovered the power that once made him a highly regarded prospect.

For the season, Encarnacion-Strand is batting .293 with a .917 OPS. He has totaled 61 hits, 13 doubles, 15 home runs and 44 RBIs while providing consistent middle-of-the-order production for the Tides.

Not a name many fans may recognize yet, but one worth watching, Christian Herberholz has gone from being undrafted to making starts at the Triple-A level.

In his most recent outing, Herberholz did not factor into the decision, but his strong performance helped pave the way for a Norfolk victory. He tossed 4.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five and walking just one.

Since arriving in Norfolk, Herberholz has appeared in eight games, including seven starts, posting a 4.33 ERA across 27.0 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander has struck out 25 batters while issuing 10 walks.

Double-A Chesapeake: Griff O’Ferrall – INF / Luis De León – LHP

This week features a pair of fresh faces taking home Chesapeake’s weekly honors.

Offensively, it goes to Griff O’Ferrall. The 23-year-old infielder appeared in five games and recorded at least one hit in each, totaling seven on the week.

O’Ferrall consistently found ways to reach base and played a key role in an offense that enjoyed a productive series. Nice to see from the former Virginia Cavalier.

On the mound, Luis De León delivered his best start of the season.

After a difficult beginning to 2026, the 23-year-old left-hander got back on track with five no-hit innings. De Leon allowed no runs, walked two and struck out seven in the winning effort, effectively working around the few baserunners he allowed.

The Dominican native now improves his season ERA to 6.07. He has totaled 58 strikeouts in 46 innings of work with Chesapeake.

High-A Frederick: Elis Cuevas – UTIL / Joe Glassey – RHP

Elis Cuevas made the most of his opportunity this week, slashing .438/.524/.750 with a team-leading 1.274 OPS over five games. He collected seven hits, including a triple and a home run, while driving in three runs.

Cuevas also drew a team-high four walks and stole four bases in six attempts.

After a difficult 2025 season, Cuevas has taken a significant step forward in 2026. He is slashing .255/.318/.447 with a .765 OPS. Through 41 hits, he has totaled six doubles, two triples and seven home runs, leaving him one shy of matching his career high.

Relievers do not often earn weekly honors, but Joe Glassey was impossible to ignore. The 24-year-old right-hander converted both of his save opportunities, allowing just one hit across three innings while recording six strikeouts.

Glassey has now made four scoreless appearances in June and is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities during the month.

The Illinois native’s season has been filled with both career-highs and lows. In 17 appearances, tied for a career-high, Glassey has already matched his career-best total of three saves and set a new career-high with five save opportunities. He owns a career-low 3.47 ERA across 23.1 innings while posting career-highs in walks (8), strikeouts (43) and innings pitched.

Low-A Delmarva: Miguel Rodríguez – C / Stephen Still – LHP

Miguel Rodríguez put together one of the most impressive offensive weeks in the organization this season.

Over five games, Rodríguez slashed .533/.619/.667 with a 1.286 OPS. He recorded eight hits, including two doubles, while driving in 10 runs, tied for the Carolina League lead during the week. He also walked three times, struck out just once in 15 at-bats and added a stolen base.

Rodríguez did not begin his season until a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on May 11. Since returning, he has posted a .297 batting average, .418 on-base percentage and .809 OPS, totaling 19 hits, six doubles and 19 RBIs this season.

Remarkably, 10 of those 19 RBIs came during this week’s series, meaning more than half of his season run production occurred over just five games. It was an outstanding performance from the 20-year-old catcher.

Stephen Still is quickly becoming a name worth monitoring.

The left-hander tossed four scoreless innings in his latest start, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. He also held opposing hitters to a .154 batting average during the week.

Still attended Loyola University New Orleans and began the season in the Frontier League. If that story sounds familiar, it should. Like fellow hurler Andrew Herbert, who was highlighted last week, Still signed with the Orioles on May 21 and has immediately made an impact.

In 16 innings this season, Still owns a 1.13 ERA with 24 strikeouts. He has surrendered just 10 hits, walked nine and is holding opponents to a .179 batting average.
