We have our first major shake-up of the MLB 2026 Top 100 Prospects rankings, and the latest update brings significant movement across the sport.

MLB now has a new No. 1 overall prospect, several organizations continue to strengthen their farm systems and, unsurprisingly, the Los Angeles Dodgers once again lead the way with the most Top 100 prospects.

For the Baltimore Orioles, this update brought several notable developments worth breaking down. Let’s get into it.

Top 100: Ike Irish (No. 94)

The Orioles officially have a new Top 100 prospect, and it comes in the form of former first-round pick Ike Irish. Selected 19th overall in the 2025 MLB Draft, Irish has quickly validated that investment with an impressive start to his professional career.

In 29 games with the Frederick Keys, Irish is slashing .283/.392/.519 with a .911 OPS. He has totaled 30 hits, including seven doubles and six home runs, while driving in 19 runs. More importantly, he has looked comfortable and advanced at the plate throughout his first full season in the organization.

Irish’s early success has not only earned him national recognition but also vaulted him to No. 2 on the Orioles’ Top 30 prospect rankings. The organization’s decision to draft him is already looking like a strong one.

Top 100: Nate George (No. 69)

Very few players selected 489th overall go on to make meaningful noise in professional baseball. Historically, only five players drafted in that slot have reached the majors, with former Orioles catcher Chris Hoiles standing out as the most recognizable name.

That makes what Nate George is doing all the more remarkable.

The former 16th-round pick from the 2024 draft is currently slashing .293/.372/.366 with a .738 OPS in Frederick. Across 24 hits, George has recorded three doubles, one home run and 15 stolen bases, while also putting together a five-hit performance this season.

George became the first player since Logan O’Hoppe in 2023 to crack MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 after being selected in the 16th round or later, a testament to just how quickly he has elevated his prospect stock. For Baltimore, George is shaping up to be one of the organization’s biggest recent draft steals.

Orioles’ Top 30: Brandon Butterworth (No. 30)

The Orioles’ 2025 trade deadline continues to age well.

With right-hander Anthony Nunez graduating from prospect status, Brandon Butterworth has moved into the No. 30 spot on Baltimore’s Top 30 rankings.

Acquired in the Ryan O’Hearn/Ramón Laureano trade, Butterworth has continued to make a strong impression. In 25 games with Double-A Chesapeake, he is slashing .242/.369/.418 with a .787 OPS and has collected 22 hits, including two doubles, one triple and four home runs, while also drawing 16 walks.

The Orioles continue to see positive movement throughout their farm system as the season progresses. Butterworth becomes the third player to enter the Top 30 due to prospect graduations, while Irish gives Baltimore another nationally recognized Top 100 talent.
