According to multiple industry sources, the Baltimore Orioles have agreed to terms with left-hander Josh Walker on a one-year major league contract.
Walker, 30, was claimed off waivers by the Orioles in August after being designated for assignment by the Philadelphia Phillies. He was immediately assigned to Triple-A Norfolk, where he spent the rest of the 2025 season.
In his six games pitched with Norfolk, Walker posted a 2.70 ERA and 0.60 WHIP in 6.2 innings pitched. Between three Triple-A affiliates last season, he compiled a combined 4.64 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 40 games and 42.2 innings pitched, with 40 strikeouts to 25 walks.
The Otisville, NY, native is 0-1 with a 6.59 ERA in 27 career major league appearances between the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays. He began last season with Toronto and went 0-0 with a 7.20 ERA in three games before he was traded to the Phillies in late May.
Walker was drafted by the Mets in the 37th round of the 2017 MLB Draft from the University of New Haven (West Haven, CT).
