Tis the season for giving, and the Baltimore Orioles are in the holiday spirit, as the organization continues to partake in events to aid and benefit the community around them.
Earlier this month, the Orioles teamed up with the Maryland Food Bank, the Baltimore Ravens, M&T Bank and more for the Pack to Give Back event, a year-ending event that brings corporations together to feed their neighbors and strengthen communities.
Thousands of family-sized meal boxes will be distributed over the holidays, as the event will help increase brand awareness, promote team building with staff and/or clients and advance corporate social agenda.
The main goal, however, is to help the Maryland Food Bank advance their mission of expanding food access to food insecure Marylanders during the holidays.
“Pack to Give Back is such an amazing, important initiative that has real tangible impacts for families in the communities,” said Oliver Gray, the Marketing Manager for Guiness Open Gate Brewery. “The Maryland Food Bank is one of our longest standing partners, so it only seems right to physically bring the partnership together and, more importantly, come together to help our fellow Marylanders.”
The Orioles support many civic and charitable organizations with a goal of enriching the lives of those in the Birdland community. On top of volunteer hours, the O’s have donated over $20 million to various organizations in the community.
Helping food insecure families to have a holiday meal is just part of the impact the Orioles hope and intend to provide in the surrounding areas.
Partnerning with the Maryland Food Bank is just one of many ventures the organization has taken on to help support and grow its impact in Baltimore and in the Birdland community.
