To continue this West Coast trip, the Baltimore Orioles pay a visit to Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, for the first time since 2019 to play the Rockies.

For a team like the O’s with an offense that has been, for a lack of better terms, simply bad for weeks, a trip to Coors Field may be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Looking to beat the altitude on the mound for the Birds will be Albert Suárez (6-4, 3.18 ERA) in game one versus Austin Gomber (4-9, 4.70 ERA). Game two we will see Dean Kremer (6-9, 4.31 ERA), as he opposes Ryan Feltner (1-10, 4.95 ERA) and finally, game three will feature a “TBD” starter against Cal Quantrill (8-9, 4.63 ERA).

No confirmation, but it has been rumored that Zach Eflin may be able to return for a start on Sunday. If not, we could see one more Cole Irvin start in place.

There are two big silver linings heading into this series, and those are Ramón Urías and the O’s bullpen. Yeah, you read that right.

Urías has accounted for more than 75% of the Orioles’ RBIs over the last week, while the bullpen was lights out in LA, only allowing one run across those three games.

BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR

There are many things to choose for the BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR in this series, but in all reality, none of it matters besides this.

The team’s at-bats have been absolutely abysmal all around, and until the approach begins to replicate what it was in the first half of the season, we will continue to see these low-hit, low-scoring series losses, even against a team like the Rockies.

The home runs will still be hit, especially in Colorado, but those mean nothing when they constitute one or two hits in games where the offense only musters three or four total. Without better at-bats and pitch selection, it will be a long weekend.

GAME 1 STARTING LINEUP

This series kicks off on Friday evening at 8:40 p.m. EST. Game two will be on Saturday at 8:10 p.m. EST and game three on Sunday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. EST, with all three games airing on MASN2 and airing over the Orioles Radio Network.

Anything less than 2 wins against a woeful Rockies team spells doom.
