The Baltimore Orioles have won seven of their last 10 games to move into first place in the AL East.

The O’s, who have won five of their first seven series to start the season, will now head to Los Angeles to face the Angels, losers of four straight.

The Orioles are coming off a hard-fought series victory against the Kanas City Royals, where the offense showed how explosive it could be, scoring 17 runs across the three games. The Orioles currently have a +29 run differential, which ranks third in the AL.

Albert Suárez (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will take the mound to open the series. Coming off a 5.2-inning debut without allowing a run, Suárez will look to set the pace and carry over from his first start. He will be followed by Grayson Rodriguez (3-0, 2.63 ERA) and Dean Kremer (0-2, 4.91 ERA).

For the Angels, Reid Detmers (3-0, 1.19 ERA) will open the series, and he followed by Griffin Canning (0-3, 8.05 ERA) and Tyler Anderson (2-2, 1.42 ERA).

The Orioles opened the season taking two of the three games from the Halos and will look to continue that trend. The offense has been explosive, and the starting pitching has done enough to get the job done.

BATTERY ❌-FACTOR

There are many areas where we could look for the BATTERY ❌-FACTOR this series. With the starting pitching and offense doing well, it is actually the Orioles bullpen that we’re selecting for the series.

Entering today, the O’s bullpen has a 4.23 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. The collective group of arms has struggled some lately, including almost blowing a 7-0 lead the other day in Kansas City.

In order for the series to swing in favor of the Orioles, the bullpen will need to return to its lockdown form and keep the Angels’ lineup at bay, especially against the likes of Mike Trout and Taylor Ward late in the game.
