For the first time since 2017, the Baltimore Orioles will play baseball in the city of Milwaukee.
Coming off a series win in San Francisco, which saw the team record their league-leading 20th road win, the O’s look to put a damper on the first place Brewers.
The Orioles will pitch Kyle Gibson in game one, followed by to be determined starters in games two and three. Opposite of the Oriole arms will be Freddy Peralta, Corbin Burnes and Colin Rea.
The Brewers are known for their starting pitching and for Corbin Burnes specifically. It will be a test for the offense, and the teams’ success more or less falls on their shoulders.
There are a few hot bats coming into this series. The most surprising has to be Aaron Hicks, who is coming into Milwaukee 5-for-11 and having just hit a triple in the game on Sunday. He has been a fantastic edition to help fill the void of Cedric Mullins being hurt.
ROSTER MOVES
Prior to the series, the Orioles reinstated left-hander Danny Coulombe from the bereavement list. In order to make room on the 26-man roster, utility man Terrin Vavra was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.
BATTERY ❌️-FACOR
As previously mentioned, the offense will be instrumental in this series. So our BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR is the left-handed bats in particular.
The offense will be facing three good right-handed arms, and it will be huge for the left-handed bats to carry the load. We know Orioles manager Brandon Hyde loves his lefty platoons, so expect Adam Frazier, Ryan O’Hearn and Aaron Hicks to produce, along with Adley Rutschman and Anthony Santander.
Being disciplined at the plate will be key, especially for the table setters. Not swinging early in the count and making their starters work hard from the jump will be imperative.
