As the month of June is underway, we have the chance to look upon the achievements our Baby Birds received down on the farm for the last month in Aberdeen.

The South Atlantic League names two IronBirds Player of the Month and Pitcher of the Month.

JACKSON HOLLIDAY – INF

No surprise here, Holliday time and time again proves that he is a force to be reckoned with at the plate. At just 19 years old, Holliday was promoted from Low-A Delmarva to High-A Aberdeen in late April, where he previously received the honor of CAR Player of the Week.

For the month of May, Holliday comes in first among the SAL with 33 total hits and a .384 average, second in runs (26) and tallied three triples. He also comes in third for slugging percentage with .628 and fifth in RBIs (19) and walks (21).

ALEX PHAM – RHP

Alex Pham, drafted in 2021, was promoted from Delmarva to Aberdeen last season. In this 2023 season, Pham is 2-2 with a 2.90 ERA with a total of 56 strikeouts.

In five starts, Pham did not allow a run in four of the five, leading the right-hander to go 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA for the month. Pham, putting the nail in, went for 11 strikeouts against Hudson Valley, creating a career-high for the 23-year-old.

Orioles fans, for the past few years, have been seeing the organization’s farm system being ranked number one among other franchises. With achievements such as these in High-A, it is easy to see why Birdland is anxious to see their Baby Birds like Holliday and Pham move up the ranks.
