Orioles set to face Mancini & Astros for 3

The Baltimore Orioles continue their push in the AL Wild Card race, as they head to Houston, where they will face former Oriole and fan favorite Trey Mancini for the first time since he was traded earlier this month.

In a series that will be crucial in the Birds’ postseason push, they will face an Astros team that has been dominating the American League.

It will be a tough series against a strong foe, but these are the kind of series that the Orioles rise-up and play their best baseball.

The Astros will pitch Lance McCullers Jr., Jose Urquidy and AL Cy Young favorite Justin Verlander to attack the Orioles’ lineup.

On the flip side, the Orioles will send out Kyle Bradish, Dean Kremer and Austin Voth in hopes of taking down the powerful Astros lineup.

Going into the Astros series, The Baltimore Battery ❌-FACTOR will be the Oriole rookies and their ability to play under pressure.

Tyler Nevin, Terran Vavra, Nick Vespi, Félix Bautista, Adley Rutschman and Kyle Bradish and Kyle Stowers are all a part of the future but have been brought up to be a part of the team for this season’s postseason push.

Stowers is the newest of the bunch, as he has only been on the big league team over the last week (he was a replacement in a series against Toronto in June).

This crop of youngsters has the ability to dictate how this series might play out, and continuing to show the talent these players possess will be a difference not only in this series but going forward.

Be sure to tune in tonight, as the series will start at 8:10 p.m. EST. You can catch each game on MASN or on your local Orioles Radio Network station.
