Orioles baseball is back, following what was a very poor showing down in Tampa Bay.
The Orioles dropped two of three to the Rays to fall back to 1.5 games back in the AL Wild Card standings.
Looking to make up some ground, the Birds travel now to Rogers Centre to once again face the Blue Jays. Luckily for the Orioles, who are now all vaccinated, Anthony Santander and Keegan Akin will be making the trip.
Starting the set off the mound will be Kyle Bradish, who certainly bounced back in his last start. Following Bradish will be Dean Kremer and Austin Voth. Voth is also coming off a fantastic last start, one in which he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning.
This past series in Tampa Bay had a large amount of offense in game one, followed by that same offense seeming to disappear in games two and three. The pitching was good for the Orioles, but that lack of run support played a huge part in the losses of the last two games.
❌️-FACTOR:
The Baltimore Battery’s ❌️-FACTOR for this series is one we just saw recently and was just mentioned above: Run support.
I don’t care if we send out Sandy Koufax, Randy Johnson or Greg Maddux. If the offense continues to stumble like they did in Tampa Bay, Birdland will have very unhappy fans after these three games.
It’s simple. Be patient, see some more pitches and get into better hitting counts. That was something that did not exist in Tampa Bay for the Bird.
GAME 1 STARTING LINEUP:
This series begins at 7:05 p.m. EST Monday. You can catch each game on MASN or on your local Orioles Radio Network station.
