The Orioles will play four games against the Kansas City Royals from Kauffman Stadium starting Thursday to begin an eight-game road trip.
Although these two teams have met once before, it will be the first Adley Rutschman and Bobby Witt Jr. matchup, the number one and two prospects to enter this season.
On the mound for the Orioles will be Jordan Lyles, Bruce Zimmermann, Tyler Wells and Dean Kremer.
Coming off an extra day off due to rain, the Orioles lineup and bullpen should be well-rested. This will be important for the bullpen, as both Zimmermann and Kremer are poised to have shorter outings, unless Zimmermann can recapture his magic from April.
Austin Hays and the rest of this lineup need to show up in these four games, as they face a pitching staff that is closer to the bottom in ERA. Jumping out ahead early and giving the Oriole starters cushion will go a long way in that large stadium.
The Baltimore Battery’s ❌-Factor for this series is Austin Hays, himself. Hays has been playing out of his mind recently, currently sitting at a .292 average with seven home runs. As the O’s best spark plug guy, it will be necessary for him to bring the production at the plate for the rest of the lineup to follow.
Game 1 Starting Lineups:
Game one of this series begins Thursday at 8:10 p.m. EST, and you can catch each game on MASN or on your local Orioles Radio Network station.
