The Baltimore Orioles are headed up the Eastern Seaboard to New York to face the Yankees for a three-game set in the Bronx.
Fresh off a series victory against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Orioles enter a series playing games 11-13 against the Yankees on the season. Currently, the Orioles are 3-7 against New York this year and will be looking to correct the ship.
This time around, the Orioles will have Ryan Mountcastle back, after missing last series with a wrist injury. Adley Rutschman will also make his road debut against the Yankees, after he was called up this past Saturday.
For the Orioles, they will send Jordan Lyles, Bruce Zimmerman and Tyler Wells to face the Yankees. As for New York, they will have Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery to start the series, with no starter announced for Wednesday’s game as of now.
Heading into this series, The Baltimore Battery ❌-Factor will be the O’s starting pitching.
The Orioles have won three of their last four games, all with relievers receiving the victory. Our starting pitching has fallen a little short in keeping them in the games early.
The way to beat the Yankees is to keep them off the score board and capitalize on those moments on offense. With Joey Gallo, Josh Donaldson and Kyle Higashioka all on the COVID IL, the Bronx Bombers will be a little thinner on offense.
Of course, there is the revenge factor, when Aaron Judge and manager Aaron Boone both complained about Oriole Park at Camden Yards. And, of course, this comes from a team that is notorious for hitting little league home runs at home.
Game 1 Starting Lineups:
Baltimore Orioles (17-25):

– Recalled: RHP Marcos Diplan from Norfolk
