MASN announces broadcast team for 2022 season
Here’s some good news as we limp towards Monday’s MLB-declared gotta-get-a-deal-done deadline prior to regular season games being cancelled. Don’t say we never share the good stuff.
The Baltimore Orioles announced today that the full group of broadcasters for MASN and the O’s Radio Network will return for 2022, which may or may not be a shortened season.
Kevin Brown, who’s been with the organization since 2019, will become MASN’s primary play-by-play broadcaster, and Melanie Newman, the O’s radio play-by-play gal since 2020, will be the first woman in team history to call games on MASN telecasts.
Brown will call over 130 telecasts, expecting a full 162-game season. Jim Palmer, Ben McDonald and Dave Johnson will be color-commentators.
Even with the shadow of CBA negotiations going on, this news brings Orioles fans reason to be even more optimistic heading into the season.
Here are the folks that will be handling broadcast duties for O’s games on the MASN television network in 2022:

A few changes were announced earlier this year regarding the Orioles’ radio broadcast partners, also.
Plans are to broadcast all 162 regular season games throughout the network. The Orioles Radio Network broadcasts across over 40 stations in six states and the District of Columbia. Scroll down for a comprehensive list of radio stations in the broadcast area.

Why is Grandma Garceau still on the “Broadcast Team”? He seems to diminish the abilities of his broadcast partner. When he’s on with Palmer, he seems to be kissing a certain part of “Pancakes ” anatomy. At Palmer’s advanced age don’t you think it has been kissed enough? Asking for a friend.

If Garceau is kissing Pancakes’ flip side, it seems to me he is doing his best to make his partner better. MLB players all have egos. Can’t get away from that. It’s not a bad thing for a ‘civilian’ to understand that and allow his broadcast partner with MLB experience more room to do his thing. IF the Orioles didn’t like what Palmer was doing, he’d be politely asked to retire. He still brings nostalgia (and viewers which always = $’s) to Birds Broadcasts. You may believe it is bad but, I’m cool with a bit of posterior puckering.

I believe there is a good chance he will get a taste of MLB action this season. IF he torches AAA, he’ll definitely get a look.
