O’s make minor league coaching changes

Buck Britton has turned heads as a coach throughout the Orioles minor league system. Helping develop such promising prospects as Adley Rutschman and Grayson Rodriguez and the “other 2019 pick” Kyle Stowers, Britton has been just as crucial to the O’s rebuild as anyone.

Zack’s brother has guided the Baysox to one of the best minor league records through most of the 2021 season, even with a revolving door of players being moved up and down in the system. It was only a matter of time before Britton would get a chance to show more of what he was capable of with developing players, and that time has come.

Buck has officially been named the Triple-A Norfolk Tides manager for the 2022 season, replacing Gary Kendall.

To replace Britton, Single-A Aberdeen manager Kyle Moore will be promoted to manage the Double-A Bowie Baysox.

Moore was able to push players between Delmarva and Bowie, with his managerial and developmental skills helping players succeed in Aberdeen.

One of the bigger names coming through into the Bird’s minor league system is Felipe Rojas Alou Jr., who will be managing the Low-A Delmarva Shorebirds.

Alou was given the main goal of helping get the Dominican Republic Academy off the ground and going, serving as director last season.

Dave Anderson, who managed the Shorebirds this past summer, is no longer in the organization. Former O’s minor league player, Jaylen Ferguson, a 9th-round pick in 2015, will serve as a hitting coach in the Florida Complex League next season.

For the Orioles, 2022 looks to be a season of growth with the right managers at the helm from top to bottom. Let’s watch our Birds fly next season with our new managers guiding the way!

  1. I’m a long life Orioles fan and a big fan of the rebuild . These are great moves the organization has made. I’m trusting the process and I believe we will be back in the pennant rice in two years. Let’s Go O’s .
