Aberdeen IronBirds announce 2021 roster

The new High-A affiliate of the Orioles, the Aberdeen IronBirds, have officially announced their roster for the 2021 minor league season.

After spending 19 seasons as the O’s Class-A Short Season affiliate, Aberdeen is now the High-A affiliate, taking the place of the long-time Single-A Frederick Keys.

The 2021 IronBirds roster consists of both talented pitching prospects and exciting young bats. The team will consist of five of the Orioles’ Top-30 prospects, those being pitchers Grayson Rodriguez, Drew Rom, and Garrett Stallings, infielder Adam Hall, and outfielder Kyle Stowers.

The O’s No. 2 overall prospect, Grayson Rodriguez, will be Aberdeen’s Opening Day starter, after having an incredible 2019 season with Delmarva. Gray Rod would pitch in the MLB Future’s Game that year and finished the season with a 10-4 record, 2.68 ERA, and 129 strikeouts.
