After all the baseball world has been through in 2020, the final day of the season has finally come. A season finale many didn’t think would actually happen due to corona. Yet here we are as the Orioles are set to finish up the 2020 season in Buffalo against the Blue Jays.
The Orioles have had a handful of surprised this season, with today’s starter being one of them. Keegan Akin was one of the long awaited prospects, the No. 11 prospect coming into 2020. Entering his last start, Akin is 1-2 but has much better numbers than his record shows.
In 22.2 innings pitched with 31 strikeouts, Keegan Akin has a chance to finish with 40 strikeouts, if he is able to match his career high of nine in a game.
The offense will face a struggling Tanner Roark. With a 7.01 era, Roark has especially been beaten in Buffalo, with a 7.79 era in four games at home.
Here is a look at the lineup that has one more chance to make it to 25 wins this season!:
- Austin Hays (R) LF
- DJ Stewart (L) RF
- Ryan Mountcastle (R) 1B
- Renato Nunez (R) DH
- Rio Ruiz (L) 3B
- Hanser Alberto (R) 2B
- Chance Sisco (L) C
- Pat Valaika (R) SS
- Cedric Mullins (S) CF
The final first pitch of 2020 is at 3:07 pm ET, and you can catch it in MASN or on the radio at 105.7 The Fan!
