With the ever-growing shadow of the August 31 Trade Deadline looming above all of baseball, the Orioles have decided themselves as sellers and kicked off this trading season.
The Orioles Opening Day starter, Tommy Milone, has been traded to the Atlanta Braves for two players to be named later. The Orioles will announce the players they received after the 2020 season because they are not on the 60-man player pool.
So far in 2020, Milone has been serviceable for the Orioles, holding a 3.99 ERA in 29.1 innings. Milone’s 31 strikeouts are an enticing stat, as the Braves presumably look to solidify their pitching staff after the loss of Mike Soroka. Also, you might be seeing Milone out of the bullpen for the Braves.
Never a part of the Orioles’ future, trading the 33-year-old Milone is not a bad move depending on the players received.
