It’s an exciting day in Birdland, as the O’s take on the Boston Red Sox in game two action. But that isn’t the exciting part!
It was announced earlier today that the Orioles have called up their No. 5 overall prospect Ryan Mountcastle from the Alternate Training Site.
Mountcastle, 23, will be making his Major League debut tonight, wearing No. 6 on his jersey and playing left field.
The O’s placed Chris Davis on the 10-day injured list with left knee patellar tendinitis to make room for Mountcastle on the roster.
Even though this news is exciting, there is still a game to be played tonight, as the O’s send John Means (0-1, 10.57 ERA) to face Colton Brewer (0-1, 4.50 ERA) of the Sox.
Here is tonight’s starting lineup:
1. Hanser Alberto 2B
2. Anthony Santander RF
3. Renato Núñez 1B
4. Pedro Severino DH
5. Rio Ruiz 3B
6. “Lord” Ryan Mountcastle LF
7. Chance Sisco C
8. Pat Valaika SS
9. Cedric Mullins CF
John Means LHP
Tonight’s game is available on MASN and the Orioles Radio Network. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. EST.
