Orioles left-handed reliever, Richard Bleier, has been shipped to the Miami Marlins, with a player to be named later as the return.
Bleier was a solid piece of an Orioles bullpen that fell into shambles following their 2016 Wild Card loss. Coming to Baltimore in 2017 following a February trade with the New York Yankees, Bleier was an asset immediately.
When asked about the trade, Bleier said this:
“I am extremely thankful Baltimore and the organization and all they’ve done for me. They gave me an extended opportunity in the big leagues and then really gave me another opportunity coming off a down year to get back to the status I was at before. It has been a really enjoyable ride here in Baltimore, and I am thankful for that.”
Richard Bleier
In three seasons with the Orioles, Bleier traveled between the major league squad and the minors frequently, with 2018 being his best season in orange and black. In 2018 Bleier had a record of 3-0 with an ERA of 1.93 in 31 appearances.
It is unclear who the Orioles will receive in return for Bleier, but it is clear that the hole left by Bleier will be felt within the Orioles bullpen.
We want to say thank you to Richard for all of his contributions to Birdland!

Why trade Blier he has reliable for the Orioles and to not even know what you will get in return. I do not trust Ellis did not like the way he handled Adam Jones or this move
