As the Baltimore Orioles secured their first series win of the season, it also marked a milestone moment for two emerging stars.
Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers have officially graduated from prospect status, solidifying their places on the big-league roster. In turn, two new names have been added to the organization’s top 30 prospects list via MLB Pipeline.
Let’s take a look at the new additions and what they have done within the organization thus far in their young professional careers.
No. 29: Vance Honeycutt – OF
A former first-round pick (No. 22 overall in 2024), Vance Honeycutt slots in as the Orioles’ new 29th-ranked prospect.
The 22-year-old has endured a challenging start to his pro career, posting a .446 OPS across his first 13 games between rookie ball and Low-A. His first full season in the system offered modest progress, though his overall production remained limited.
Across 101 games with High-A Aberdeen, Honeycutt slashed .171/.284/.275 (.559 OPS), collecting 64 hits, including 12 doubles, six triples and five home runs. He drove in 24 runs and showcased his above-average speed with 32 stolen bases.
Encouragingly, Honeycutt displayed his plus power during spring training, clubbing four home runs to lead the organization. He will open 2026 with High-A Frederick and look to make a significant jump before season’s end.
No. 30: Cobb Hightower – INF
Rounding out the updated list is 21-year-old infielder Cobb Hightower, whose arrival underscores the Orioles’ effective 2025 trade deadline.
Originally a third-round selection by the San Diego Padres in 2024, Hightower made his professional debut in 2025 with Low-A Lake Elsinore.
He posted a .239/.363/.314 slash line (.677 OPS) with 38 hits, seven doubles, 21 RBIs and 28 walks before being acquired by Baltimore in the deal that sent Ryan O’Hearn and Ramón Laureano to the Padres.
After the trade, Hightower maintained his steady offensive production with Low-A Delmarva, hitting .250/.337/.321 (.658 OPS). He is set to return to Delmarva to begin the 2026 campaign.
