With pitchers and catchers set to report in just over a week, spring training is nearly underway.

While the primary objective in Sarasota is preparing for Opening Day, the exhibition schedule also provides an early look at prospects who are inching closer to the major leagues.

With that in mind, here are five Orioles prospects worth monitoring closely throughout camp and Grapefruit League action this spring.

REED TRIMBLE – OF

Reed Trimble tops our list largely because he enters the spring with something to prove after being protected from the Rule 5 Draft. The organization’s decision looks justified based on his 2025 performance, which he split between Double-A Chesapeake and Triple-A Norfolk.

Across 90 games, Trimble slashed .259/.342/.486 with an .828 OPS, setting career-highs in hits (82) and home runs (17) while recording his first double-digit homer season. Trimble went a perfect 21-for-21 in stolen base attempts last season and is now an astonishing 61-for-61 dating back to 2021.

While Baltimore’s outfield depth is considerable, Trimble profiles as a potential bench weapon who can impact games with his legs.

CAMERON FOSTER – RHP

Like Trimble, Cameron Foster was also protected from the Rule 5 Draft, and his path to this point has been anything but conventional.

Foster opened the 2025 season in the New York Mets system before arriving in Baltimore at the trade deadline as part of the deal that sent left-hander Gregory Soto to New York.

Foster struggled in his brief Triple-A stint with the Mets, allowing seven earned runs in 3.2 innings across two appearances. After joining the Orioles, however, he settled into a relief role, posting a 3.38 ERA over 16 innings in 13 games.

The data suggests Foster is better suited for bullpen work, as his effectiveness has increased as his starts have decreased. He will enter camp competing for a final bullpen spot and could provide valuable depth if injuries arise.

ENRIQUE BRADFIELD JR. – OF

Enrique Bradfield Jr., the Orioles’ first-round pick in 2023, is another speed-centric outfielder to watch this spring. After an injury-marred 2025 season, he appears poised for a bounce-back year that could put him on a fast track to Charm City.

Bradfield Jr. played in just 76 games last season, slashing .242/.348/.348 with a .696 OPS. While the offensive output was modest, his speed remained intact, as he stole 36 bases.

Hamstring issues limited the now-24-year-old’s consistency, but the organization remains confident in his long-term outlook. If healthy, Bradfield Jr. could produce eye-catching numbers in Triple-A Norfolk and push for a major league debut by midseason.

TREY GIBSON – RHP

Arguably the top pitching prospect in the O’s system entering 2026, right-hander Trey Gibson is widely viewed as a potential September call-up. His trajectory, however, will be shaped in part by what he shows this spring.

Gibson logged 120.1 innings across 26 appearances (25 starts) in 2025, finishing with a 4.26 ERA. He dominated Double-A with a 1.55 ERA over 52.1 innings, then faced a steep learning curve in Triple-A, where he posted a 7.98 ERA in seven starts.

With refinements, Gibson could position himself for spot-start consideration later in the season. MLB Pipeline’s near inclusion of him in its top 100 prospect rankings underscores his upside.

NESTOR GERMAN – RHP

The final spot on this list was competitive, but Nestor German earns the nod as a pitcher whose results deserve deeper context. Across three levels—Aberdeen, Chesapeake and Norfolk—German posted a 3.93 ERA over 123.2 innings of work.

His ERA climbed as he advanced, but his Double-A performance stood out. In 18 games with Chesapeake, German recorded a 3.76 ERA while holding opponents to a .207 batting average.

The 23-year-old righty’s strikeout ability remained consistent throughout the year, finishing with 143 punchouts. German’s brief Triple-A sample inflated his overall numbers, but continued confidence and command could quickly reestablish his momentum. A strong spring may even elevate him into the conversation for a 2026 debut.
