According to multiple reports, the Baltimore Orioles are calling up their No. 3 overall prospect Dylan Beavers.

The 24-year-old outfielder will make his major league debut on Saturday against the Houston Astros at 7:10 p.m. EST. He will wear the number 12.

Beavers was drafted back in 2022 with the 33rd overall pick in the competitive balance round. He made his pro league debut on August 4, 2022, and would play three rookie ball games before getting the call to the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Beavers played just 16 Shorebirds games in 2022, hitting an exceptional .359 with a .999 OPS. He had 23 hits, seven doubles, two triples and 13 RBIs while also walking 12 times. He played so well that he finished the season with four games in Aberdeen.

His 2023 season was his first full minor league season, and he wasted no time to show his true potential. He played 85 games as an IronBird, slashing .273/.369/.463 with a .832 OPS. He had 85 hits, 26 doubles, three triples and nine home runs while also knocking in 48 RBIs and stealing 22 bases.

Beavers would be named a SAL Post-Season All-Star and would get the call-up to the Double-A Baysox on August 2.

He would turn into a monster to end the 2023 season with the Baysox, hitting safely in 82% of his games and posting a .321 average, .895 OPS and 43 hits.

The 2024 season would be considered a down year for Beavers, as his numbers decreased a bit. In 119 Baysox games, he had just a .756 OPS and hit just .241, collecting 104 hits, 19 doubles, 15 home runs and 50 RBIs while also stealing 31 bases.

Beavers would receive his only Eastern League Player of the Week honor during the week of August 18 and would get the call to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides on September 18.

The 2025 campaign has been full blast for Beavers, slashing .305/.420/.518 with a .938 OPS in 93 games. He posted 103 hits, 14 doubles, two triples and 18 home runs on the season and was also in the midst of a 24-game on-base streak that dates back to July 12.

Beavers is beyond ready for the majors, and now is the time to see what he can do. With the season coming to a close, it’s time to see what the young prospects can do as we get ready for the 2026 season.

In a corresponding roster move, the Orioles have designated outfielder Greg Allen for assignment.
