According to multiple industry sources, the Baltimore Orioles have traded right-handed reliever Seranthony Domínguez and cash considerations to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Birds will acquire the Jays’ No. 10 overall prospect, right-hander Juaron Watts-Brown.
Watts-Brown was a third-round pick of Toronto in 2023 out of Oklahoma State. The 23-year-old has split time between High-A and Double-A this season, posting a 3.54 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 19 games, all starts.
The Visalia, CA, native has collected 115 strikeouts to just 38 walks in 89 innings of work this year. Opponents are hitting just .214 off Watts-Brown this season.
Watts-Brown tops at 94 mph with his four-seam fastball and can run it up a couple of ticks higher when he needs to reach back for more. The right-hander’s slider and curveball are plus pitches, but command troubles and a lack of missed bats with his heater have led to thought that he might be better suited as a reliever down the road.

Domínguez was acquired by the O’s during last season’s trade deadline along with outfielder Cristian Pache in a deal that sent long-time Oriole outfielder Austin Hays to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Pitching in 68 games with the Birds between last season and 2025, Domínguez posted a 3.50 ERA and 1.32 WHIP wearing orange and black with an 82 to 33 strikeout to walk ratio.
Domínguez, 30, is 2-3 with a 3.24 ERA in 43 games this season, striking out 54 over 41.2 innings of work. He sports a 3.54 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over his career, fanning 335 in 285 frames, all in relief.
Domínguez is the second reliever O’s GM Mike Elias has dealt in the past week, after shipping left-hander Gregory Soto to the New York Mets for two minor league pitchers.
