Another month is finished, and that means we are a little over halfway through the Minor League Baseball season in 2025.

With that being said, it’s time for our June Edition of O’s Prospects of the Month. This past month made our picks very challenging, but it’s always great to see just how much prospect talent the Orioles organization still possesses.

Without further ado, let’s get right into it.

Low-A Delmarva: Nate George – OF

A prospect who has taken the year by storm made our cut after making his Delmarva debut in the month of June.

Nate George slashed .356/.406/.593 with a .999 OPS for the Shorebirds in the month of June. He lead the team with 21 hits, including three doubles and four triples, while driving in 10 RBIs.

George, 19, has been the best overall hitter in the Orioles’ farm system this season, compiling an OPS of 1.003, hitting .371 and having tallied 52 total hits. George has also showed off his speed, as he has 22 stolen bases on the year in 33 attempts.

High-A Aberdeen: Michael Forret – RHP

Michael Forret was undeniably the best pitching prospect for the Orioles this past month.

The 21-year-old right-hander pitched to a 1.13 ERA in 16 innings of work throughout five June starts. The State College of Florida product has been recovering from a past injury and has been limited, but that has not stopped him from striking out 21 batters and holding opponents to a .167 average on the year.

Forret is having a really solid second season as a pro. In 10 starts, he has a 1-1 record with a 1.43 ERA in 37.2 innings of work. The former 14th-round pick has given up six earned runs, walked 10 and has struck out 50.

Double-A Chesapeake: Nestor German – RHP

After two shaky months, the O’s 10th-ranked prospect showed some signs of a bounce back in the second half of the season, even earning Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors this past month.

In four starts in June, Nestor German posted a 2.49 ERA, giving up six earned runs in 21.2 innings of work. The 23-year-old Seattle native struck out 19 batters and held them to an impressive .135 average.

German, as implied above, is having a down year compared to his 2024 season. He has pitched to a 3.84 ERA in 13 starts and 61 innings pitched. The righty has already doubled his earned runs from last season but is on pace to have more strikeouts, as he is currently at 70 and finished with 90 last year.

Triple-A Norfolk: Samuel Basallo – C/1B

The Oriole’s top prospect is constantly proving that he deserves to make his big league debut soon.

In 20 games, Samuel Basallo had a .318/.452/.667 slash line with a 1.119 OPS for the month, as he tallied 21 hits and was second on Norfolk in home runs in June, smashing seven of them. Basallo was also very selective at the plate, collecting 15 walks.

Basallo has continued to show that he is a top prospect for a reason, posting a .969 OPS in 54 games at the Triple-A level. The 20-year-old Dominican native is on pace to best his career-high in home runs, as he is currently at 16 and needs to surpass 20. Hopefully, we see Basallo in the majors soon.

Overall: Jeremiah Jackson – INF

The overall best prospect of the month was hands down infielder Jeremiah Jackson.

Jackson, 25, posted a remarkable .370 average and an OPS of 1.124 in just 23 games, collecting 34 hits, eight home runs and knocking in 16 RBIs.

Jackson is having a career year in the minor leagues. He has a slash line of .291/.324/.515 with a .839 OPS and is on pace for his second season of 100+ hits. The former second-round pick has hit a career-high 24 doubles and has crushed 12 home runs.
