Minor League baseball is entering the third full week of the season, and a lot is going on down on the farm. Let’s discuss the craziness.

The Double-A Chesapeake Baysox have a big league rehab start this week, as left-hander Trevor Rogers is making a rehab start during Wednesday’s game.

The 27-year-old has yet to make his first appearance in the 2025 season, as he has been sidelined with a right knee subluxation injury since spring training. In just four games with the Orioles last season, Rogers posted a 7.11 ERA in 19 innings pitched.

Rogers will make three to four rehab starts, according to Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, as he ramps up.

Chesapeake has first pitch at 11:05 a.m. against the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate, the Altoona Curve.

The Baysox have also had some injuries to their roster pop up. Right-handed pitchers Zach Fruit and Patrick Reilly, who are both O’s top 30 prospects, have been placed on the IL.

Fruit, who was somewhat of a spring training head-turner, has posted a 10.13 ERA in three starts this season. As for Reilly, he was pulled after one inning during his April 19 start and has carried a 1.86 ERA in 9.2 innings of work.

The final piece of Baysox news is that right-hander Braxton Bragg was promoted from the High-A Aberdeen IronBirds this past Monday. Bragg has yet to give up a run in 16.1 innings of work this season and has struck out 18 batters.

Down in Aberdeen, righty Daniel Federman was placed on the seven-day IL. As for Low-A Delmarva, the club placed O’s No. 9 prospect, right-hander Keeler Morfe, on the seven-day IL. The 18-year-old Morfe had a 22.50 ERA in three starts and exited his most recent outing last Friday with a right ring finger sprain.

In other news around the Orioles organization, right-hander Cody Poteet was placed on the IL with right shoulder inflammation, which means that right-hander Brandon Young is back with the Orioles.

Young, the O’s No. 19 prospect, tossed four innings of three-run ball against the Cincinnati Reds in his major league debut this past Saturday.
