With MLB Pipeline’s 2025 top 100 prospects list announced last week, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the Orioles’ top prospects from 10 years ago.
In all honesty, the list really surprised me, as the names are a mix of current big leaguers, former players and even someone who’s now in a totally different sport.
Without any further delay, let’s discuss the O’s top 10 prospects from 10 years ago.
10. MIKE YASTRZEMSKI

Ranked 10th in the Orioles’ system in 2015, Mike Yastrzemski is one of two players on this list to make his major league debut on a different team.
Originally selected in the 14th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt, Yastrzemski was dealt out of the Orioles organization before making his debut. In March of 2019, Yas was traded to the San Francisco Giants for right-handed pitcher Tyler Herb. He would make his debut just two months later on May 25.
Yastrzemski has finished his sixth season in the bigs and has played a total of 694 games, slashing .239/.322/.457 with a .779 OPS. He’s compiled 543 total hits, 134 doubles, 22 triples and has hit 106 home runs. The grandson of former MVP and Hall Of Famer Carl Yastrzemski has really put together a solid career and still has some left in the tank while playing in his final contract year in San Francisco this season.
9. PATRICK CONNAUGHTON

Patrick Connaughton is honestly the funniest story of the 10 prospects.
The Orioles drafted Connaughton in the fourth round of the 2014 draft out of Notre Dame. He pitched a total of six games, including four starts, with Aberdeen and carried a 2.45 ERA in 14.2 innings of work. Then, Connaughton found a new passion.
After those six games, Connaughton decided to return to Notre Dame for the 2015 college basketball season and never played professional baseball again. He would actually be selected in the 2015 NBA Draft and is currently still in the league playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, even winning a championship with the organization back in 2021.
8. TYLER WILSON

The first prospect we’re covering to make his debut for the Orioles, Tyler Wilson had high hopes coming out of the University of Virginia and being chosen in the 10th round of the 2011 draft.
Wilson made his big league debut against the Seattle Mariners on May 20, 2015, and spent a little over two seasons in MLB. The righty pitched in 42 games, including 19 starts, and had a 8-10 record with a 5.02 ERA in 145.1 innings of work. He gave up a .294 batting average to hitters and only struck out a total of 77 in his career.
Wilson wasn’t seen in the pros after the 2017 season and was last seen pitching in the KBO in 2020.
7. MIKE WRIGHT JR.

Another high hopes prospect, Wright Jr. was considered a steal for the Orioles when he was drafted in the third round back in 2011 out of East Carolina University. He showed his true potential on May 17, 2015, when he tossed a shutout in his MLB debut, striking out six Los Angeles Angels batters.
Wright Jr. pitched from 2015-2019 with the Orioles and carried a 5.95 ERA in 101 games, including 23 starts. He earned a 10-12 record in 242 innings of work, striking out 192 batters and giving up 280 hits.
The Orioles traded Wright to the Mariners in April of 2019 for Ryne Ogren. Wright wouldn’t see the majors again until he pitched 18 innings with the Chicago White Sox in 2021. He was last seen pitching in the Atlantic League.
6. TIM BERRY

The only left-handed pitcher on this list, Berry never got to make his MLB debut, despite how many years he spent in the minor leagues. The Orioles selected Berry in the 50th round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
Between nine different minor league teams across four different organizations, Berry pitched 205 minors games and started 132 of them. He pitched a total of 775 innings and struck out 636 batters.
A true Iron Man of the minor leagues, Berry was last seen in 2019 with the Double-A Reading Fighting Phils.
5. CHANCE SISCO

When discussing prospects that I thought had a bright future ahead of them, Chance Sisco is right at the top of my list, as I believed he was going to take the league by storm after the Orioles selected him in the second round of the 2013 MLB Draft.
Sisco debuted on September 2, 2017, and over four seasons, he slashed .199/.319/.399 with a .658 OPS in 191 games with the Orioles. He posted 101 hits, 23 doubles and 16 home runs wearing the orange and black.
The Orioles placed Sisco on waivers in 2021, and he was claimed by the New York Mets to finish the season. He was last seen playing for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League last season.
4. ZACH DAVIES

I mentioned earlier that Yas was the first of two names to debut with another team. The Orioles chose Zach Davies in the 26th round of the 2011 draft, but before he could make his debut, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015 for outfielder Gerardo Parra.
Davies has spent nine years in the majors, carrying a 4.36 ERA in an even 200 career starts. He’s pitched a total of 1,048.1 innings, has given up 1,055 hits and has struck out 785 batters.
Davies is currently a free agent after being released by the Kansas City Royals back in May of 2024.
3. CHRISTIAN WALKER

This one hurts, quite honestly. Christian Walker was a prospect who was highly liked by O’s fans after being selected by the Orioles in the fourth round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
Walker played in just 13 games with the Orioles and had a .554 OPS with four hits, including a double and a home run, before being placed on waivers. After he jumped around the league a bit, he found a home in Arizona, where he showed up and showed out for the Dbacks, posting a .251/.331/.464 slash with a .795 OPS during his eight years in the desert.
Walker recently signed a three-year, $66 million deal with the Houston Astros this offseason. Needless to say, he’s been the most successful player from this 2015 class.
2. HUNTER HARVEY

One of only two players on the list drafted in the first round, Hunter Harvey’s career hasn’t completely been how everyone thought it would turn out. Yet, he has shown signs of success during his brief time in the big leagues.
Harvey appeared in just 26 games with the Orioles over three seasons and compiled a 3.42 ERA in 23.2 innings of work. He would be placed on waivers in 2021 and ended up being claimed by the neighboring Washington Nationals in March of 2022.
Harvey was last seen pitching for the Royals in 2024.
1. DYLAN BUNDY

Dylan Bundy was the ace of the future for the Orioles. The former Gatorade Player of the Year was chosen with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft.
Bundy made his MLB debut at just 19 years old in 2012, but he never had a whole season of play until 2016. He spent five seasons with the Orioles and posted a 4.58 ERA in 127 games and 614.1 innings. Bundy struck out 602 batters and gave up 611 hits from 2016-2019.
Bundy would be traded in December of 2019 for Kyle Brnovich, Isaac Mattson, Zach Peek and current Oriole starter Kyle Bradish. He was last seen on the field as a Met back in 2023 but has since become a real estate agent in the state of Oklahoma.
