Normally, this series is utilized to bring forth awareness and info related to the Orioles organization and players who are participating in events within the community.
However, this time, we are going to bring you a different take, one that shows a journey from small start-up to a recognizable name within the Birdland community.
The Baltimore Battery was established in September 2019 by a group of three friends who wanted to share their love for baseball and the Orioles from the perspective of fans.
As easy as it seems, it was a challenge that required time, patience and research, plus the ability to reach fans and players throughout Birdland.
As The Battery has grown and evolved into a source for Birdland news and information, we as a staff have formed a bond not only internally but externally as well.
Over the last few years, we have worked hard to bring you up to date news, information and perspective from a fan’s point of view. That drive has helped us evolve into a reliable and trustworthy source of information.
This year saw interviews with prospects, the Comptroller of Maryland and the surrounding neighborhoods, such as Pigtown. We were on top of the lease deal and ownership change and even had a first-person perspective from spring training.
Social media has helped us interact with fellow fans and even bring Orioles legend, Adam Jones, into our following as a supporter of our “Salty Fans” segment after every O’s victory.
The Baltimore Battery has been fortunate enough to bring in a collection of talented writers who not only have a deep passion and love for the game and birds but also have become a family.
But the family aspect is not the only thing that makes The Baltimore Battery so great. What helps drive our passion, desire and love for our group is being able to share and interact with you, those who make up Birdland.
We have been fortunate enough to have the support of an amazing following of friends and fans. We’ve even supported each other through promotions, gatherings and meet-ups at Camden Yards.
The Baltimore Battery is not just a group of fans; it’s Birdland as well. As much as we enjoy bringing you articles, we realize that Birdland is as much a part of this as we are.
Tis the season for blessings and togetherness, and we at The Battery are thankful that we have you, the fans, to help make The Baltimore Battery what it is today.
The words and stories might come from us, but the feedback, the support and even criticisms and critiques only help to make us better and to be thankful for the opportunity to share our love and passion with everyone.
As the 2024 year rolls to a close, we want to share our appreciation for everyone who has helped to support, grow and continue this journey. We realize how important our following is and cherish the opportunity to be a part of Birdland and have the pleasure of bringing you what the fans need to know.
May you all be blessed this holiday season, and may 2024 end on a high note. We thank you and look forward to another year together with all of Birdland.
