Our next player to cover in our Prospect Profiles series is still very new to the Orioles organization.
Outfielder Stiven Martinez is a younger prospect who has a bright future ahead. Let’s dive into the O’s No. 9 overall prospect.

Heading into the 2024 international signing period, Martinez was ranked 29th on MLB Pipeline’s international prospect list. He was known for his high arm rating of 60 and his power rating of a 55, and the Orioles signed the young man on January 15, when he was just 16 years old.
Martinez debuted in the Dominican Summer League on June 8, where he collected his first professional hit. He would follow that game up with his first multi-hit game and his first extra-base hit.
Martinez played 41 DSL games during his first professional season and slashed .278/.417/.466 with a .883 OPS. He collected 37 hits, five doubles, four triples and four home runs while knocking in 33 RBIs. The Puerto Plata, Dominican native walked 28 times, struck out 51 times and stole two bases in six attempts.
Martinez stands out particularly because of his raw power. He’s strong and athletic, and it’s clear his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame will be able to add more strength easily as he matures.
The young man started his pro career in center field, but if he grows out of the position, his plus arm, not to mention his run-producing potential, could look very good in right field.
