With Thanksgiving having passed and Black Friday signaling the beginning of the holiday shopping season, it’s a reminder that we’re in a season of giving.
As this season of giving continues onward, the Baltimore Orioles have partnered with CareFirst for Giving Tuesday, a winter clothing drive donation event. It will take place on Tuesday, December 3, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST.
Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently-used scarfs, hats, gloves, coats and other assorted winter clothing items.
CareFirst is a not-for-profit health insurer of groups and individuals in Maryland, D.C and Northern Virginia. They serve 3.5 million members as an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
CareFirst’s goal is to create healthier communities by addressing factors that impact health. These factors include access to food and job opportunities, growing leaders and making sure communities know they matter.
CareFirst has partnered with the Orioles in support of The Food Project as well. They also work with the Low-A affiliate of the Birds, the Delmarva Shorebirds, and the Baltimore Ravens in charitable events.
Fans who participate in the winter clothing drive will receive a complimentary voucher for two tickets to a 2025 Orioles home game. The event will take place at Oriole Park Home Plate Plaza at the service drive.
Be sure to find those clothes you have just sitting around with no use. There are people who can’t afford to buy the necessary items needed to stay warm this winter.
