The Baltimore Orioles continue to work in the surrounding community to help promote the game of baseball and include the fans in these activities.

Recently, the organization teamed up with Nike RBI, supported by Giant Foods, and young athletes to teach and help learn about career opportunities after baseball.

Showcasing opportunities that players should and can prepare for, the RBI Program helps youth on and off the diamond, teaching various life lessons.

As part of MLB’s youth initiative, they would provide opportunities to play baseball or softball in underserved communities for younger people. The program also encourages academic success and promotes the value of teamwork.

The Nike RBI spotlight showcases diversity of RBI leagues across the world, including programs run and supported by MLB clubs, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, local municipal groups and independently operated groups.

The Nike RBI program has served nearly two million youths, including MLB players Jackie Bradley Jr., Hunter Greene, Alek Thomas and Dominic Smith.

The Orioles have been active in the program, inviting Nike RBI teams to Camden Yards to celebrate their end of the season. There, they received trophies and awards while also having a bullpen party with recognition before a game as well.

Earlier in the year, Anthony Santander hosted 35 youth players on a shopping spree at Dicks Sporting Goods.

The RBI Program coincides with the Orioles Field Revitalization Program, which improves the field conditions for baseball and softball players in Baltimore City.

Offering opportunities for the next generation of youth helps get them off the street and provides a positive environment that will guide, promote and encourage the success they achieve as part of the program.

As the next generation of talent emerges, the RBI Program will be a stepping stone to the achievements and successes that these children will accomplish not only on the diamond but in their personal lives.
