Now that they survived the month of June, the Orioles have now entered an even more challenging month.

Maybe not for the players, but for the fans waiting for those, “We have made the following roster moves” notifications, time is ticking, and the pressure is rising.

With the trade deadline less than 30 days from now, let’s discuss who should be the Orioles’ safe-netted prospects and active players. I have three main do not disturbs, starting with Jackson Holliday.

I’m sure this comes as no surprise, but the kid is just simply too good. I’m not sure if we’ll be seeing him pulled back up to the majors this season, but Jackson will be an everyday starter in this league in the very near future.

Not only is Holliday a gifted hitter against both lefties and righties, but he is also well disciplined and not a player to chase pitches. There is no player on the market worth losing Holliday’s talent at just 20 years old.

Coby Mayo is another untouchable for me. I know this is pretty 50/50, but if I were in charge of the Orioles’ roster, I’d have him up in the big leagues already. Granted, he does have some defensive kinks to work out. However, with 21 home runs, 60 RBIs and a 1.045 OPS, it’s safe to say he’s got it figured out offensively.

I know we’ve heard rumblings from O’s GM Mike Elias about a potential call-up for Mayo, and I hope it’s true. If he can carry his Triple-A talent to the majors, the Orioles are in for a damn good time.

Lastly, I would not be comfortable losing Heston Kjerstad. In his brief return to the majors so far, he has proved himself, hitting two homers, one being a grand slam, and collecting eight RBIs.

Silent J is a fantastic spark to this O’s offense. A strong, eager hitter with so much confidence, resembling a player like Gunnar Henderson is the key to Baltimore’s long-term success.

Now, when it comes to the vets, I believe Cedric Mullins is an untouchable, Anthony Santander is in the middle and Austin Hays is free game.

I don’t want to lose Tony or Hazy, but I believe their value could come very handy in negotiations for a starting pitcher. Players like Ramón Urías could also be thrown into the mix, but I’m not sure how much additional value that would bring.

Ceddy, on the other hand, you all know how I feel about him. I told you he was going to heat up, and he caught on fire. Offensively and defensively, and with his overall veteran influence on a young team, the organization can not lose a player like him.

Some other players who could be in consideration are Connor Norby, Kyle Stowers, Seth Johnson and Samuel Basallo. I am begrudgingly comfortable with all of them being in trade talks.
