The Birds come back home to celebrate Memorial Day with an AL East matchup against the Boston Red Sox.
This will already be the second meeting of these two teams, with the Orioles sweeping the first go around at Fenway Park. Last time, Colton Cowser had the series of his life, collecting 10 RBIs and two home runs.
This time around, the O’s rotation will be in a great spot despite the losses of John Means and Dean Kremer.

Cole Irvin (4-2, 3.15 ERA) will get things started for the O’s in game one, with Grayson Rodriguez (5-1, 3.20 ERA) starting game two and Corbin Burnes (4-2, 2.60 ERA) in game three.
Both Irvin and Rodriguez struggled a little against the Red Sox last time, while Burnes was lights out. A combined seven earned runs between Irvin and Rodriguez make for a good bounce-back series this time around.
Offensively, the Orioles will have a task on their hands. They will have to face Cooper Criswell (2-1, 2.86 ERA) in game one, followed Brayan Bello (5-2, 4.04 ERA) in game two and Kutter Crawford (2-3, 2.89 ERA) in game three.
ROSTER MOVES
Prior to the start of this series, the Orioles activated right-hander Thyago Vieria, whom they acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers two days ago. He will wear No. 40.
Left-hander Nick Vespi has been optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk as the corresponding move.
BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR
The BATTERY ❌️-FACTOR in this one relies on the top of the Oriole lineup.
These are three good starting pitchers for Boston, and Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Jordan Westburg and Anthony Santander having good at-bats and getting on base will be key.
Finally, in the Chicago series, the O’s showed better plate discipline. That led to a lot more deep counts and walks, as well as timely hits. Having this kind of approach from the top of this lineup against a good rotation will go a long way.
