The week was a little shorter for the Orioles than usual. But with 43 games over the next 45 days, the Birds needed all the rest they could get.

The Orioles did have an extra day off due to a rainout, so they only played five games. They went 3-2 for the week against both the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners.

With that being said and the current sleepless streak at 107 and counting, let’s see who was great, good and ugly this past week.

The Great: Colton Cowser

This was a toss-up between Cowser and one other player, but going 6-for-14 (.429 avg.) with six walks and three RBIs, it places you in the great category.

On top of Cowser’s strong offensive play, he collected an outfield assist and had an outstanding catch in right field against the Mariners.

For the season, Cowser saw his average rise .023 points (.277), his on-base percentage .040 points (.371) and his slugging percentage .021 points (.521).

Cowser has appeared in 43 games so far this season, collecting 33 hits, including 11 doubles and six home runs with 23 RBIs.

The Good: Gunnar Henderson

It’s pretty impressive that you can have an “off week” but still have a good week at the same time.

Henderson collected only five hits in 19 at-bats (.263 avg.), but of those five hits, three went for home runs.

Henderson has climbed the league leaderboard in home runs, hitting one in three straight games headed into Monday night (that streak extended to four games last night in St. Louis). He also collected four runs, four RBIs, three walks and a stolen base for the week.

For the year, the reigning AL Rookie of the Year is slashing .270/.348/.598 with 15 home runs and 31 RBIs. On top of that, Henderson is playing Gold Glove defense, with highlight reel plays and a .984 fielding percentage.

The Ugly: Cedric Mullins

Mullins, surprisingly, is in a season-long slump. Going into the week, the former All-Star starter was hitting just .192 on the season, with just two hits for the month.

Mullins would end the week collecting three hits in the last two games but still finished the week 3-for-14 with two RBIs, no walks and six strikeouts. He also collected his 100th career stolen base.

The good news was Mullins’ batting average actually went up .002 points higher than when the week started. A small yet positive sign.

Mullins entered Monday slashing .194/.241/.351 with six home runs, 18 RBIs and seven stolen bases on the year. He currently is on pace to strikeout 128 times (career-high) and walk a career-low 36 times for the season.

The Orioles will play seven games this week between the St. Louis Cardinals (three games) and the Chicago White Sox (four games). The Birds are 0-1 after a 6-3 loss to the Cards last night.

Who will rise, and who will fall during the week? Will Mullins turn things around, and will Henderson and Cowser keep their strong weeks going forward?

Tune in next week to see who makes our next edition of The Great, The Good and The Ugly.
