The Orioles continue to add pitching depth at the minor league level with the signing of left-hander Andrew Suárez.

The 31-year-old Miami native is entering his ninth season as a pro and was originally drafted in the second round by the San Francisco Giants in the 2015.

Suárez would make his debut in 2018, when he would start 29 games and have a 4.49 ERA in 160 innings pitched. After his 2018 rookie season, he would become a bullpen arm for the next two years.

Suárez would spend some time in Japan and the minors before getting back to the majors in 2023 after signing with the St. Louis Cardinals. He struggled to get back to a groove, compiling a 7.16 ERA in 13 total games. Suárez would carry an ERA of 4.50 in 64 innings pitched at the Triple-A level.

We would like to welcome Andrew Suárez to Birdland and wish him nothing but the best in his future as an Oriole.
