It might be November, but the Orioles are wasting no time to announce how the 2024 season will play out.

Shout out to MASN’s Roch Kubatko for putting out a full article on the schedule changes. This article will be a breakdown of the O’s regular season schedule for the 2024 season.

The Orioles have decided to stick with their 2023 change but add even more, as all Monday through Thursday home games will begin at 6:35 p.m. EST. I spoke about this change in an article prior to the start of the 2023 season, and between watching games and experiencing games in person with this change, it’s what I would consider one of the best changes to a schedule and one of the most needed.

The reason why the Orioles made that change was primarily for the younger audience. When games used to start at 7:05 p.m. EST and there was no pitch clock, they wouldn’t end until around 9:30 p.m. EST at the earliest. For students, depending on their age and grade, that would be a lot of late nights.

It also really stunk for students who had tickets for the games and couldn’t stay for the entire experience. Now that games start at 6:35, the games end around 8:30 or 9:00, which is a solid time to be in bed. The only exception to this rule will be on August 22, when the Orioles host the Houston Astros for a 7:15 p.m. EST game.

The Orioles are also hosting Opening Day this year for the first time in six seasons on Thursday, March 28, with a 3:05 p.m. EST start time against the Los Angeles Angels.

The schedule will feature 13 Saturday games that will start at 4:05 p.m. EST (the game on June 29 against the Texas Rangers will be a 7:15 game). The regular schedule of Friday night games at 7:05 and Sunday games at 1:35 with the regular promotion of Kids Run The Bases will return next year.

Birdland Memberships will be on sale this Thursday, November 30, starting at 10 a.m. EST. Speaking as a Birdland Member, it’s the best decision my family made.

The access to Opening Day and the postseason were amazing opportunities that not only myself but my family could attend and enjoy. The membership also comes with entry to the exclusive Membership Clubhouse, located at the club level, and discounts on food, parking and merchandise saved us a lot of money and time.

I hope this gets you super excited for the new season, like all of us at The Baltimore Battery. As much as the offseason is a nice break from the world of baseball, any piece of Orioles news makes me personally excited because that means we are one day, week, month and article closer to 2024 Opening Day on March 28 from Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
