The Orioles are heading over to Los Angeles to face Shohei Ohtani and the LA Angels after a 2-1 series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Orioles still currently lead the American League East, holding an 85-51 record and 2.5-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Angels host the Birds fourth in the American League West with a 64-73 record. Now, walking into September, gaining wins means more, despite who the O’s are facing.

BATTERY ❌-FACTOR
Every fan can admit that we look to each series with the Angels because we get to see Shohei Ohtani. Luckily for Orioles fans, one of Ohtani’s superpowers is out-of-order for this series, as he is not going to be on the mound due to a tear in his UCL.
Before injury, Ohtani was pitching to a 3.14 ERA, and although the O’s usually hit well off Ohtani, the lineup will face a collective group of arms that have underperformed this season.
Time and time again this season, the Orioles have shown as a team that they can score five plus runs and tire out pitchers with the right juices flowing throughout lineup. This is why the collective unit of the Orioles’ offense and their ability to specifically attack the LA starters will be this series’ BATTERY ❌-FACTOR.
