The Baltimore Orioles announced Tuesday night that veteran infielder Freddy Galvis will be joining the team on a one-year, $1.5 million contract. In order to make room for Galvis on the 40-man roster, Chris Shaw was designated for assignment.

Orioles left-handed reliever, Richard Bleier, has been shipped to the Miami Marlins, with a player to be named later as the return.
